Emily’s Story.

Emily Rodger is a former elite athlete who knows firsthand the power of resilience and the human spirit. Raised in New Brunswick, Canada along with her three sisters, Emily's life didn’t really include sports until adulthood. After being gifted a bike at 28 years old, she quickly made it to the elite level of racing.

In her full first year of bike racing, Emily competed in 21 races, which included 17 podiums, 14 1st place finishes, a National masters title, and a World masters title in Time Trial. Before she knew it, she found herself racing in the professional peloton. Emily has had many notable career moments including being a 2x UCI GranFondo World Champion (both Time Trial and Road Race), Canadian Masters National Time Trial Champion, and 70.3 Ironman world qualifier.

Emily's cycling success brought her more than just podium finishes. She was involved in two very serious cycling crashes where she was struck by vehicles, resulting in multiple broken bones, a brain injury, and extensive soft tissue damage. These life-altering events made her a stronger, more resilient, more grounded, and a more grateful athlete/person. Emily knows how it feels to be shattered, both mentally and physically. But no matter how broken one may feel, there is always a way out of our darkest places.

During her recovery, Emily found her love for fly fishing. At a time when she was mentally struggling with the trauma she experienced, she put her focus on discovering genuine happiness. That's when the memories of fishing as a child came back to her. She thought about how much she loved being by the water and out in nature. While she searched the water for fish, Emily came to a greater understanding and acceptance of who she is, what she values, and what makes her tick.

Emily has taken a step back from racing at the professional level to pursue all the things that truly bring her joy. During this time away from cycling, she's also developed her passion for coaching others and helping them achieve their biggest goals. This passion has inspired her to invest in herself and her clients by becoming a certified Executive Coach.

As a certified executive coach through Royal Roads University and the International Coaching Federation, Emily partners with clients from diverse backgrounds to help them clarify their goals, increase self-awareness, and optimize their performance both personally and professionally. She believes that everyone is capable of achieving their dreams and finding joy in life, no matter what obstacles they may face.

Emily is a living proof that no matter how dark the situation is, there is always a way out. Her journey from an elite athlete to a certified coach and passionate fly fisher is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Emily's experience overcoming both physical and mental obstacles has inspired her to share her story and help others.

Emily's story is a source of inspiration and motivation for anyone who has faced adversity and is seeking a way out of their darkest places. She believes that everyone has the potential to achieve greatness, and that with the right mindset and support, we can all accomplish amazing things.
